A new look at orbs |

In the thread titled Sight Experiences I relayed an experience I had one stormy night at sea when I saw a ball of light, which quite freaked me out. Because of that personal experience I kinda keep an eye on new information pertaining to such things. I just stumbled across this article which I found rather interesting, although it doesn't really ANSWER anything.....so much as it entertains some possibilities. I thought I'd share it here and see what y'all think of it.

Very intriguing. I have seen orbs but didn't have a camera handy. Can they flash or blink?

I wonder if the book itself contains any more definitive information or answers.

But those pics are horrible. I'm sorry the first pic is rain. You can look at the deck in the background and see it's been raining. The other 2 I believe are dust.
I do believe there are orbs, I have seen what would be described as an orb. And of course didn't have a camera on me at those times. But I don't believe that all the orbs captured on film are anything. If they are then snow, rain, and dust are all alive! And there are billions of these entities that come out of my pillows when you hit them. And according to this site they are traveling at least 200 miles an hour. I guess I hit them so hard they wanted to flee! ![]() |

I'm certainly no expert on orbs....who IS, really?
But I don't see much difference between "orbs" and a phenomenon such as the famous Marfa Mystery Lights. Someday I'd like to drive out to west Texas and see them myself. Here's a link; www.nightorbs.net/Mystery_Lights.htm There are also the famous Brown Mountain Lights; www.ibiblio.org/ghosts/bmtn.html Could they be swarming insects? Something akin to lightning bugs? Just a thought... |

Oh, meant to add....I did a search in Youtube for the Marfa Mystery Lights. There are a lot of entries there, but the ones I looked at were generally poor quality. You CAN see a lotta film footage of them flying around if you go look for it. I didn't find any I considered worth linking to, though.

There are also "Ghost Lights" in Joplin Missouri called the Joplin Spooklights. Of course they have been called the nNeosho Lights" also. We've been invited to go out with a Joplin team that states they have the most extensive collection of evidence on the lights. <shrugs> I haven't gotten a link to any of it as of yet. I'll let you know if I do.

so what's an orb??? | #14 | ||
|
So I'm not going mad after all. I think I've seen one. It was in my bedroom, high up in a corner. A
bright light blue ball, that came out of no where, stayed there for a few seconds, then came straight toward me (I was in bed) It got to me - and nothing, no
impact, no feeling nothing. Anyone think 1. I'm crazy 2. I imagined it??? Anyone have an explanation. It was about 8 years ago, I think. Regards,
Kettle.

Mel Gibson's Passion of the Christ was in part based on the visions of mystic nun Anne Catherine Emmerich. She had visions of all the events surrounding
the crucifixion of Christ. When Jesus died, she saw his soul as an orb of light going out of his body. This book was penned in the 1800's---long before
there were computer forums on paranormal orbs of light. Just thought that was interesting. Sorry Mel ddn't include that part in his movie.
