Always something I guess. Keeps life interesting but all the same it is still a pain nonetheless.
Mr Gates, I understand you are wealthy and have accomplished much, but is it possible to actually get solutions to a problem when I ask for it? You think it is possible the update site actually works properly? I have never been to school for computer tech training and I do all the maintenance on mine, but when the site I need to provide patches, fails to work, I am stuck.
Another thing, Mr Gates, I ask why is the task manager not showing up? Your website seems to be lacking in allowing me a solution to this problem. It is much like our government. Got more solutions than problems while overlooking the real issues at hand.
Take for example, I live in Memphis and our Mayor is a total crook. He only cares for himself just as the Mayor of New Orleans. We are so screwed and our city now struck with recent disasters, the Mayor has failed to even make a statement to his city, nor step foot in the community unless he had to on account of the Govenor and our President. Other cities had their elected officials out in the midst of the chaos for their city and the support of the families affected. Our mayor, King Willie has one goal, to make his kingdom at any cost. Memphis is suffering and continues to suffer. They must force him out now before he can do any more damage to the working class citizens who pay high taxes to support his pay increases, new cars and fancy dinners.
A few years back when straight line winds hit us, King Willie was in Arkansas try to get funds for his campaign.
Even upon his return, days later he could only say that he hires people to take care of these things.
Frustrated, the people feel he still should have stopped for a moment to issue a statement to his city. Nothing ever came except for negative and blaming remarks. Memphis has a awesome amount of history that will continue to crumble under his reign. God Help us all.
Now we have more damage to contend with here and he still keeps talking of spending money for new arenas and entertainment. Taxes are 9.25% and they are considering payroll tax, property tax increase, and while gas continues to rise into the twilight zone. Memphians are tired and frustrated. Who keeps voting for this man, dead people??????????????? I can tell you all the living ones I have spoken too cannot stand the man.
We are taxed at the register, taxed on our checks, taxed on our property, utilities, and even services provided by our city. How is it that Memphis is in such debt? I pay taxes on schools for which I have no children. How is that fair? Don't get me wrong, but I made a life choice not to have them, so why should I pay to support others who do? I have some issues with the fact everyone who lives in the city pays city and county taxes. WTF? I cannot understand why county taxes go to city schools? The taxes we pay at the pump, on our tags and registration are supposed to go to our roadway maintenance. It is obvious that fund is being dipped into for other things.
Now with this recent chain of events, Willie still lacks the compassion of one in his position should have.
Look at Guiliani. He was there for his city. Ground Zero, baby. I admire him for that and walking the streets in some of the worst places of Manhattan during his campaign to hear and see what the people needed and wanted for their city.
Don't move to Memphis, move to the ouskirts, or move to Mississippi or Arkansas because as long as runs Memphis, people will continue to run from it and just come here to work.
That is what frustrates me so much. Music, Civil War and Major life changing history for the equality of all people. Memphis is great, was the greatest place and has had its share of bumps in the road, but we need a change here. This city will never improve for those who live here as long as he is in charge.
I thank the Gov and the Pres for coming here and reaching out to the people. Again, where's Willie? In the background with nothing to offer, no emotion, nothing but a blank useless stare. I ask those out there to pray we get a new Mayor soon that can improve this city and bring the people together instead of torn as they are now. The bandaids New Orleans used snapped and all because their man in charge spent it on entertainment. Not into safety for his city.
Memphis just suffered a great loss of a 28 yr+ veteran of the Police Dept because of a senseless 18 yr old burglar and killer shot him in the head. Lt Ed was someone the people admired and over 500 people attended his services. The force suffered a great loss because he was a good all around person who loved life. Yet someone took that away from him, his family and friends in an instant of 2 shots. Because of where I work I was able to at least have a moment of silence to respect a man who did much for this city and was repaid with cold blooded murder.
Again, the mayor says nothing. I heard from the extended family (MPD), family, friends, acquaintances how great he was and lived.
Everytime I pick up the paper or go online to read local news, it irritates me because the only time he has anything to say is when he is being attacked by the media for lack of action or is wanting to spend money on an arena we cannot afford while this city remains unprepared for minor disasters and god forbid the major ones. I am so frustrated how this city has went into the toilet. IS anyone out there who understands?
We should be proud to say where we live, but I cannot say that I enjoy living in Memphis. I am here because life has brought me here, friends, family I have adopted along the way and a great job.
People are still without heat and they live in some areas which should have upgraded to the underground power lines. THe mayor would rather spend it on a forum, pyramid, wants a new arena. It makes me ill.
I loved Pensacola, but it was hard to make a living because of the weather. It wasn't the states fault, they always act quickly which has saved lives. I guess when you grow up in city with elected officials who truly care for the citizens, it makes a big difference in the rebuilding of that city.
I have vented enough and I thank you for letting me have a place to do it. Whew.

Heaven forbid anyone actually study! *sigh*
