I agree Yvette! He is ripping the city apart piece by piece. I wish we could get the jackass out of office!!!


Shaina I will give you a few examples of what I am talking about as far as the police are concerned. None of this is directed at you, so please keep that in mind!!! Yvette is right on, in that we do not have enough police to cover ALL of the areas that we have that are like this. I mean they are almost from city line, to city line.


Take Jane over here. Jane just had the crap beat out of her by her boyfriend Joe. The police are called by Jane. Jane wants his butt arrested, but when it comes down to it she begs the officers not to. She LOVES him! So they now have to leave Joe the woman beater with Jane. If they can see Jane's injuries they have to by law in TN take the abuser to jail. But that doesn't matter either because he is just going right back over there when he is released. Of course after she pays his bail! This vicious cycle is then passed onto their children and the cops are called almost nightly. So the Police are now attempting to babysit, when they could be on a real call.


The shots fired calls you were talking about earlier are also a hiccup. If you don't see the actually offender shoot the gun you are shit out of luck. Even when it comes to burglaries. You must be able to prove that the criminal commited the crime. As long as the stolen goods aren't found on them, then they are not guilty! This leaves the cops hands tied!

If a Police officer is punched they are not allowed to strike back. They can block the punches as best as possible and attempt to catch the suspects hands to get him under control but they are not allowed to fight back. That is abuse! There have been cops that have had to sit and take beatings until backup could get there because they were overpowered and had no other recourse. Luckily their firearms weren't taken. They aren't allowed to shoot in this instance either because there is no "lethal" weapon being used against them! Go figure!


If a 12 year old boy points a fake gun at police and is shot and killed because the police thought their lives were in danger they are baby killers. If a 12 year old boy points a real gun at police and kills one of them he is glorified as a cop killer and the neighborhood shrugs! How in the world are they supposed to know the difference when there are no obvious markings on the weapon.

The reason that the flood light, the really bright one on both sides of the squad cars are shined into your side mirror when you are pulled over is so that you do not know exactly where they are and cannot get a shot off at them while they are walking up to your vehicle. It isn't to be mean or rude. If you can't see them you can't shoot them!

Every crime is a race crime in this city. It can be a white criminal with a white cop, black criminal with a black cop, and it is still racially motivated arrest. Racial profiling at it's best. EVERYTHING is racially motiviated. It has nothing to do with the drugs that were found in their pockets, or their being caught on camera stealing something. It's because of their race! Now the cop has to go to court and prove that it wasn't race related!!!


Billy was just caught driving under the influence. He is really REALLY drunk. It normally takes, on average, about 3 hours to take care of a DUI case. The police officers must assess the situation and deam that the guy is drunk. They must then call in a DUI officer and wait for them to come and issue their own tests. If still found to be drunk they must then call a wrecker and wait for it to show. Billy is then taken downtown and given a breathalizer. In the 2 and 1/2 hours that Billy has sat in the squad car waiting on DUI to come, waiting on the tow truck to remove the vehicle, Billy is no longer above the limit. Billy gets to go home!


These are simply a few of the things that go on on any given day. Steve can tell you some horror stories that will make your skin crawl, stories that would make you want to go and hug your kids and never let go, and stories that will make you want to move to the mountains away from all civilisation. I could repeat them here but I wouldn't dare! Yes there are some horrible cops out there, but there are more wonderful and amazing people who put their lives on the line everyday for us. They have a majorly screwed up job to contend with a bunch of people that neither you or I will ever have to come face to face with thankfully!


Could they be doing something else other than pulling that lady over for speeding? Sure they could. But they could be saving a life by pulling that speeder over. That kid crossing the street that she never would have seen because she was driving so fast made it to the other side of the road. Maybe next time when she is driving down that road again she will slow down and think about that cop that stopped her. She will probably cuss him and the woman that gave birth to him, but he saved someone life that night simply by stopping her for speeding!
